Gallery: Researcher in Residence Induction Event

The Innovation Launchpad Network hosted a special two day event in Sheffield last week (13/14th February) and kick-started the Researcher in Residence community.

Successful applicants were invited to a venue in Sheffield, where the ILN+ Management Team are based, to meet fellow academics, the Innovation Launchpad management team and Catapult representatives in person. The researchers were challenged to create a PechaKucha-style presentation which summarised their research proposal, offering a unique insight into these projects.

The first day also featured a session on Intellectual Property and Project Management, led by ILN+ Director Pete Osborne and ILN+ Manager Kristina Parry respectively.  A ‘community values’ session, which built on 2023’s Induction Event in Birmingham closed the day before a fantastic meal at the Mowbray. Trips to a local pub either side of dinner reportedly featured ‘sword dancers’, something we’re yet to confirm.

On day 2 of the event we had the pleasure of taking part in a Impact session hosted by the University of Sheffield’s Nicola Coxon. Nottingham University’s Peter Craigon hosted an EDI activity in the afternoon which really got everyone thinking about how to be more inclusive in our work.

The next Induction Event will take place in the summer, but for now here is a gallery of images from across the two days.
