Carlos Brambila is a Materials Chemist who has contributed to various research and knowledge exchange projects at the University of Sheffield. He spent four years as a postdoctoral researcher in green chemistry under Prof. Siddharth Patwardhan, focusing on sustainable industrial-scale manufacturing of mesoporous materials.
Carlos holds a BSc in Chemical and Materials Engineering from Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, Mexico (2012) and worked for two years as a Technical Adviser in the Mexican civil service. He earned an MSc in Solid State Chemistry (2015) and a PhD (2019) from the University of Sheffield, where his doctoral research, supervised by Dr. Günter Möbus, investigated the formation and 3D microstructure of porous nano-oxides.
Aside from his Network Officer duties (which include creating complex spreadsheets), you will most likely find Carlos enjoying a craft beer in a Sheffield bottleshop.
In September 2024, Carlos joined the AMRC to support the operational activities of the ILN+ as the Network Officer.
