Researcher in Residence Showcase

What is it?

The Innovation Launchpad Network+ (ILN+), established in October 2022, was set up to foster collaboration between academia and the Catapults and cultivate a robust pipeline of innovative ideas spanning various sectors. At the heart of the network lies the Researcher in Residence (RiR) scheme, a cornerstone initiative that has catalysed 107 high-impact projects across three strategic domains: Net Zero, Resilience, and Health and Wellbeing, and encompassing all nine Catapults

The inaugural RiR Showcase serves as a strategic platform to showcase the researchers work and discuss the outcomes of their projects. This gathering aims not only to highlight their achievements but also to chart the future trajectories of their work. Importantly, these projects will be presented collaboratively, showing how the RiRs and the Catapults have worked together to advance the shared understanding.

Objectives

  • To present the collaborative projects that the RiRs and Catapults have been working on
  • To provide a platform for discussions on the next steps for the RiRs
  • To conduct a SWOT analysis of the RiR scheme so far
  • To create new, and enhance existing, collaborations

Who will be there?

  • Government contacts
  • All Catapult employees involved in the projects such as academic liaison staff, technological staff, knowledge exchange staff and Catapult communications and events staff
  • Innovate UK and UKRI funding councils
  • Catapult industry partners
  • Research, innovation and technology press from UK media
  • R&I contacts at UK universities
  • Future RiRs?
