LaunchPod Episode 5: Researcher in Residence panel – the benefits of bringing academia and industry together

Welcome to LaunchPod!

Taken from a recent event, here’s a chance to hear first hand how the Researcher in Residence process has worked for our current RiRs from Tranche 1 and 2 plus we get the Catapult view from High Value Manufacturing Catapult’s Deputy CTO Jon Blackburn.

The RiR scheme promotes academic engagement and is designed to enable researchers to work with the Catapults, undertaking a project or activity in an area of strategic importance. During a recent Innovation Launchpad Network+ Induction Day, RiRs from diverse backgrounds gathered to hear a Q+A panel featuring some esteemed guests. It was informative to get Jon Blackburn’s and the Catapult perspective on how the scheme is important in terms pulling through the UK’s academic knowledge to industry.

We also heard from Libby Duignan and Dawid Hanak, whose projects you can read more about via the links below but first, click on the YouTube button underneath this to listen to the full panel discussion, chaired by ILN+ Director Pete Osborne.
