
ILN+ RiR Sprint Terms and Conditions
The main contract with EPSRC is governed by the UKRI standard conditions of award (UKRI T&Cs). These terms and conditions will apply to and will govern the relations for this Researcher in Residence award.
The Awardee shall ensure that the Researcher in Residence performs the tasks envisaged in the Application as submitted to University of Sheffield (SHEFFIELD). In addition, the Awardee shall:
Eligibility
The Innovation Launchpad Network+ Researcher in Residence Sprint is open to academic researchers at UK universities eligible to receive UKRI funding. Previous applicants are welcome to apply but places are limited and new collaborations may be prioritised.
Project start and end dates and final reporting
Projects have a fixed start date of 01 October 2026 and must end on or before 28 February 2027. There is no flexibility on these dates. Final reports and case studies must be received no later 12th February 2027.
Project costs
The value of each award is expected to be between £25k and £50k. Funding will be awarded directly to the RiR’s university. The award can be used to cover 100% of directly incurred staff costs (salary, pension, employer’s NI, app levy) and directly incurred other costs (e.g. travel, consumables, software licenses). Overhead costs (directly allocated staff, estates, technicians and indirect costs) are not eligible.
Eligible costs
A maximum of £50,000 may be awarded to cover directly incurred staff costs (salary buyout, pension, employer’s NI, app levy) and directly incurred other costs (eg travel, subsistence, accommodation and consumables). Overhead costs (directly allocated staff, estates, technicians and indirect costs) are not eligible.
Collaboration agreement
A collaboration agreement between the Researcher in Residence’s institution and the host Catapult must be made for all projects.
Invoicing
On submission of the final project report, an invoice (exclusive of VAT) and a final expenditure statement showing actual expenditure incurred during the activity will be required.
The invoice must be sent to rirapplications@sheffield.ac.uk to be received no later than 31 March 2027.
