Researcher in Residence Showcase ’26: Innovation in action

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at the Researcher in Residence Showcase 2026 – from our inspiring speakers and presenters to the engaged audience who brought energy, insight and curiosity to every session.

Your participation made this another truly memorable event, showcasing the strength of collaboration between researchers, the Innovate UK Catapult Network, industry and government. Across two days of keynotes, technical sessions, demonstrations and discussion, the Showcase highlighted the growing impact and ambition of the RiR programme across Net Zero, Resilience, and Health & Wellbeing.

A special thank you to our keynote speakers, panel contributors, and demonstrators for sharing your expertise and helping to shape important conversations about the future of UK innovation.

We are proud to be part of such a dynamic and committed community, and excited to hopefully build on this momentum in the months ahead. We hope to continue this journey with you.

The Innovation Launchpad Network+ Team.

The Researchers in Residence (RiR) Showcase 2026, held in Manchester on 10th-11th March,  brought together over 100 delegates for a dynamic two-day event hosted by the Innovation Launchpad Network+. The Showcase convened researchers, Catapult leaders, funders, policymakers and industry partners from across the UK to celebrate the achievements of the RiR scheme and explore the future of collaborative innovation.

Across the two days, attendees heard from Researchers in Residence working across three thematic areas: Net Zero, Resilience, and Health & Wellbeing. The programme featured a mix of in-depth technical presentations, flash talks, and live demonstrations, alongside poster sessions that showcased the real-world impact of RiR projects across the Catapult Network.
