For future projects, the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult are looking at the following:

• Allogeneic (iPSC) cell therapy and AAV gene therapy development and manufacturing
• Novel approaches for AAV viral vector production
• Engineering biology approaches to ATMP development (e.g. iPSC differentiation, viral vector production, cell line optimisation)
• Next generation analytics for ATMP manufacturing – multi-omics expertise to maximise AAV data mining
• Novel process analytical technologies (e.g. in-process monitoring)
• Technologies for improved bioprocess control/scalability
• Digitisation, automation, digital twins in ATMP manufacturing
• Sustainability approaches to ATMP manufacturing (e.g. reducing carbon footprint)
• ATMP formulation and fill/finish
